PMA Environmental
Condition Monitor
The Environmental Condition Monitoring System
(ECM) is a sophisticated electronic climatic
and corrosion monitor that provides constant surveillance
of the environment (temperature, relative humidity,
corrosion rate, differential pressure) and quickly
detects any change that could result in damage to
expensive equipment. The ECM measures actual loss
of metal and can be connected to alarms which alert
plant personnel when conditions exceed allowable
limits. It is particularly effective for monitoring
in refineries, chemical plants, pulp and paper plants,
computer and control rooms, museums, and clean rooms.
Corrosion is often 'episodic' rather
than chronic. If conditions do change, then the
sooner plant personnel are informed the sooner the
problem can be fixed. Situations such as spent media,
leaking ducts, failing air conditioning, loss of
room integrity, etc. will all be caught before too
much damage is done. |
